ugh

ants have invaded my kitchen

which is about 5 feet from my work area

my work usually extends into the kitchen, but it's all stacked up right now because i have borax all over my kitchen trying to drive out the ants (not that it will make a difference, as soon as the borax is gone, ugh)

basically this is just to say that i have nowhere to cut tulle at right now.

so tutus are on hold once again.

now i see why custom orders always take so long to arrive!!

but perhaps in the mean time i can get some previews posted on here :)

we are going out of town this weekend for a few days, but when i get back i am going to try to get the storefront up :)

perfecting

so in an effort to try and perfect my tutus, i think i am going to make some changes to their construction.

up to this point, all tutus have been made using 2 inch wide strips of tulle wrapped on 1 inch ribbon, with a length of 12 inches, in 4 different sizes (xs, sm, med, and lg) but i think i am going to start making them on 1 inch non-roll elastic with 4 inch wide strips. i think this will provide an overall cleaner look. then i can wrap the elastic with a pretty ribbon and that way they will still have a bow on them. this also means i dont have to have so many sizes. that will hopefully be less confusing. and less time consuming since wider strips means less cutting. we'll see how this works out.

plus i have 6 or 7 in-stock bows, 2 in-stock diaper cakes, 2 in-stock necklaces and 2 in-stock bracelets ready to go.

business cards came in the mail along with some special offers, so i placed an order for some more promotional stuff.

and once i get the price points and shipping figured out, i will be ready to open up my online storefront!!

i've been busy with all of these holidays (what holidays? idk?), plus getting my son involved in social gatherings like playdates and story time, and getting back into the swing of mentoring, and prepping curriculum for sunday school kids and for our homeschool program and trying to finish the playroom. i'm exhausted, hungry, and have a constant headache (hormones?). sorry it's taking so long y'all. i think all this rain is getting to me as well! but i am working whenever i can squeeze it in!

a bump in the road

so, there's been a small bump in the road to opening my store - my husband had some health issues going on, had to have several tests done, and was on quarantine from us for being radioactive, but despite having a fussy baby glued to me for 3 days (my son, not my husband lol!) i managed to finish up a necklace, 2 diaper cakes, and start umpteen freakin bows (I feel like i am up to my ears in bows!), 2 of which are officially finished. i have to make a run to walmart today for supplies to finish up all of our current projects, and i probably wont get another good work day in until monday, but that's okay!

besides making actual items to stock my store with, i still need to work out shipping issues and print business cards. perhaps mid-may was a bit unrealistic, but i'm still working my tail off to get everything put together. i will keep posting updates as they come to me!

exciting news!

so i have officially made 2 nursing bracelets, 1 nursing necklace, 1 Independence Day tutu, and am almost done with my first diaper cake, another Independence Day tutu, and another nursing necklace - just missing a few things here and there. I am considering opening up my store mid-May with a special grand opening discount code offered! that would be good, right? i decided i dont need a full in-stock just as long as i put items on the board. Today my goal is to whip out a few hairbows and complete the diaper cake, and also get a size check on the red white and blue tutus!

hi everyone, chances are if you found your way here it was via facebook. i decided i need a separate place to post updates on the status of the store. so far, i have 31 projects on the board!!

here's what's happening:
